Ferntree Gully Fungi Foray

In the spirit of Mycology May, join the Microscope Group for a casual Fungi Foray at the one and only Ferntree Gully!

Bring your camera and grab your fungi guide for an adventure of curiosity as we traverse into the gully and see how many different kinds of Fungi we can find. Of course, the vegetation at Ferntree Gully is a marvel on its own; this unique ecosystem is home to hundreds of species of birds. Meet like-minded people, share knowledge and thoughts and enjoy this breathtaking scene.

What to bring:

  • Water bottle, sturdy walking shoes and don't forget your curiosity

  • It can get quite cool in the gully, so come prepared for changes in temperature

  • BYO lunch

A yummy morning tea will be provided upon arrival at the picnic area, where we will gather and head off for a walk.
Stick around for a chat and byo lunch after the walk if you want!

Ferntree Gully is Crown Land but it is solely managed by dedicated volunteers who through decades of hard work have developed the facilities and maintained the tracks for people to use for free. Please bring a gold coin donation for Ferntree Gully Reserve Trust.
-Toilets & picnic facilities on site
-The walk takes approx 1-1.5 Hours and requires a moderate fitness level
