Description:
Join us to explore the fabulous fungi in Conimbla National Park and enjoy creating a scarf with natural fungi dye. If you want to try your hand a photographing fungi during the foray feel free to bring along a camera, macro lens and even a small mirror to investigate the underside of the fungi without damaging them.
You will need to bring along a thermos of hot water, chair, morning tea and drinking water. If you already have a copy of the 'Fungi of the Central Tablelands and Central West NSW' brochure be sure to bring that along as well.
The morning will involve a demonstration on how to make your own mushroom dye and then we will use already made dye to create our own masterpieces :-) As they are steeping, we will head off into the bush in search of interesting fungi and possibly may spot a few Autumn orchids as well while we are at it.
Please note this is a casual event and there will be no fungi experts with us but we will have fun searching and photographing. You will be introduced to the different types of fungi and we can help with identifying features. We will also discuss their importance in our ecosystems especially our Box Gum Grassy Woodlands and their critical importance to orchids.
