The Central Tablelands Natural Resource Toolkit

How to use this Toolkit:

The Toolkit provides information as PDFs on various topics firstly in the Central Tablelands and then in individual sub-catchment areas within the district.

The regional topics give a general overview of the Central Tablelands Landcare district and some additional help on how to use this Toolkit.

The local sub-catchment topics discuss the same or similar topics but focus on individual sub-catchment areas within the district.

Central Tablelands Landcare Network Natural Resource Toolkit

This Toolkit contains information about the natural resources - soils, land, water, and climate - in the NSW Central Tablelands.

Who can use this Toolkit?

The Toolkit is for everyone in the Central Tablelands area who wants to learn more about our natural resources. It is for farmers, landholders, students, Landcare and community groups, businesses and people who live in towns.

For more up-to-date mapping visit eSPADE, which is a Google Maps-based information system that allows free, easy access to a wealth of soil and land information from across NSW on both desktop and mobile devices.

You can use this Toolkit to help you:

  • Learn more about the community, climate, geology, soils, water and biodiversity in our district.

  • Access information about the natural resources on your property and in your local area.

  • Work with a Landcare or other community group.

  • Create an Action Plan, undertake an environmental project or apply for natural resource funding.

Acknowledgements

We would like to acknowledge, firstly, the people who have been members of the Central Tablelands Landcare Committee - both past and present, and the past Landcare Coordinators. It takes a significant effort to build and maintain a network of Landcare over a whole district. Your efforts are the main reason the Toolkit was ever created. The Toolkit was also created with support from various organisations such as Western Institute of TAFE (Orange), Central West Catchment Management Authority, Lachlan Catchment Management Authority, the State Landcare Coordinator Position, Department of Primary Industries, Charles Sturt University (Orange) and the local Councils throughout the region- Orange, Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne and Oberon. Thank you for all your assistance.
