Diversity Garden Planting Day
Date: Thursday, September 19, 2024
Time: 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Venue: Putta Bucca Wetlands, Mudgee NSW 2850, AU
Join us as we bring the Diversity Garden to life!
We’ll be planting native plants traditionally used by the Wiradjuri people for food, tools, and medicine. This is a unique opportunity to learn about these fascinating plants and their significance in First Nations culture. Together, we'll transform the newly built garden beds into an interactive display of diverse native flora, designed to educate the community about First Nations uses and to benefit our local ecosystem by providing habitat and food for birds, insects, and other animals—including people!
Afternoon tea will be provided, courtesy of Mid Western Regional Council (MWRC).
What to Bring:
Gloves
A planting shovel (if you have one)
We will have some spares available as well.
Hat, sunscreen, sun glasses
Water bottle
This is a collaborative project led by MWRC in consultation with the Mudgee Local Aboriginal Land Council. Watershed Landcare has contributed to species selection, garden design, and growing plants at our local nursery. We’re also excited to have plants provided by the North East Wiradjuri Company.
Don't miss out on being a part of this wonderful community project!
