Dr. Leigh has led the discovery of nationally important koala populations in the rugged Blue Mountains, offering new insights into their ecology and the challenges they face. Combining research with on-ground conservation action, her efforts are vital in protecting these iconic yet endangered animals.
As part of the event, you'll also meet Groot, her energetic scat detection dog, who plays a crucial role in tracking koalas in challenging terrains.
