Join Christine Corner from Crave Natural - Mudgee's very own permaculture farmer and gardening guru to learn about the world of wicking beds.
Together we will create a wicking bed out of an IBC (Intermediate Bulk Carrier) - a 1000L plastic tank. Christine will then teach us how to plant out the space for abundance as the weather warms up.
Wicking Beds are a raised garden bed with a reservoir of water below the soil. Water is drawn up through the soil to maintain soil moisture at a constant rate over a prolonged period. On the day we will use an IBC but similar principles can be applied to making a wicking bed out of any watertight container e.g. an old bath tub.
Due to limited parking space at Christine's property, those coming from Mudgee will aim to car pool. Details will be provided when you register.
