Understanding Soils & Biodiversity Paddock Walk

  • ‘Seymour’ 871 Banjo Paterson Way Molong, NSW, 2866 Australia (map)

Event Description: Join us for an informative and engaging paddock walk in Cumnock, hosted by Bill and Janine Marriot. This event will combine landscape function analysis, soil testing, and a biodiversity walk. Ian Packer & John Lawrie (Soil Knowledge Network) will discuss soils and landscape function at both site and district levels. Participants are encouraged to bring soil samples from their own paddocks or gardens for basic soil testing, including pH assessment, colour, texture, and dispersion tests. The biodiversity paddock walk will be led by Sue Wakefield and a BCT representative, focusing on local plants and birds, and providing insights on how individuals can enhance biodiversity at a localised level.
