Sunset Frog Walk and Talk at Lake Pillans Wetlands

  • Lithgow, NSW, 2790 Australia (map)

Australia is home to over 250 frog species, many of which are threatened. A major challenge in frog conservation is the lack of knowledge about where frogs are and how they’re doing. The Australian Museum is helping bridge this gap by enabling people to record frog calls with the free FrogID app.

Join us for an evening walk with the Australian Museum’s FrogID team to listen for frog calls and learn how to use FrogID. Following the walk, there will be a brief presentation on why frogs are important to healthy ecosystems and how FrogID citizen science data is advancing frog research and conservation. Discoveries of new frog species, insights into threatened frogs, and ways the Lithgow-Oberon community can contribute to frog conservation will be highlighted.
